Driveways and Walkways
Have you got cracks and fissures forming in your walkways that you keep tripping over? Or perhaps you've been nervous about driving on your driveway for fear of puncturing a tire on the jagged edges that are forming from the split concrete above? If that's the case, then it's probably time your home had an upgrade. Glendale Concrete Pros take pride in the driveways they produce, making sure that they are built to the highest standard and finished to look absolutely perfect. If you're looking for a smooth, stylish new walkway or driveway, make sure you get in touch with us and we can walk you through every step of the process.
As with so many construction projects, the most important part of a new driveway or walkway happens before it's even built – the preparation can help to dictate just how long your concrete will last and if anything is going to cause it damage. When we prepare the earth, we check to make sure that there isn't any moisture in the ground that could slowly erode away beneath the concrete, and inspect for any tree roots that can pop up and ruin your fancy new driveway. Once that is complete we can get to compacting the earth and laying down any strengthening materials like crushed rock as they are required. Then we can finally get to building out the formwork and pouring your new concrete creation.
Once the hard work has been done, the construction is a relatively smooth and easy process. As your concrete is poured we take careful care to ensure that it sets properly, making sure there are no air bubbles or pockets that can weaken the overall structure, and we make sure the correct moisture levels are maintained during the drying, as this can make a big difference to how long the concrete lasts. We work hard to make sure that your concrete is built to absolute perfection, ensuring that every technique we've learned over the years is used to get the best result possible.
As the concrete is curing, we're given the opportunity to include any designs to the surface you may want to bring some extra character to your driveway or walkway. We can also add protective coatings on top once it is fully cured to help prevent wear and tear and to increase the UV resistance of the surface. Speak to our team about any surface treatments you might want for your new concrete installation.
If your concrete driveway or walkway is starting to look a bit tired and needs an update, it may not be necessary to remove it entirely and start from scratch – we may be able to resurface the top of the concrete and give it a fresh look without the laborious need of replacing it all, saving you time and money. With resurfacing you're able to either match the previous style or bring new life with an updated design, color or styling to your concrete.
